How do you keep Gen Y working hard for you past the average 18-month job stay? Is email going to be relevant in 5 years time with Gen Z entering the job market? Is the 9 to 5 office life the best for getting the most out of your young employees?
These three questions, as part of the overall theme ‘Get the most out of Gen Z and Gen Y’, will be explored with Filip, a Gen Y-er himself.

As a Gen Y-er, Filip is ideally positioned to explore with you how to ‘Get the most out of Gen Z and Gen Y’. Besides working with Gen Y as an online project manager, Filip is a co-founder and regular blogger at Enviable Workplace. He brainstorms with thought leaders and CEOs how to mix different workplace elements and generations to create enviable company culture.
Gen Y stay an average of 18 months in a job before moving on. They loathe middle managers and prefer to have their results judged – not the process to get there. The 9 to 5 structure is a remnant from the industrial era – what motivates Gen Y is creating their lifestyle. Understand their lifestyle to get the most from them.
Like the differences between Gen X and Y, Filip believes the clash between Y and Z (born in the 90’s) will be much more evident at work. Gen Z will be smarter, faster with tech, independent and even more impatient.
